An abstract provides a succinct description of your paper in a single paragraph of between 150 and 250 words. It is often followed by a keywords section.
How to add an Abstract
- Go to the PERRLA ribbon tab.
-
Click Abstract.
PERRLA will open the Abstract panel inside Microsoft Word. - Click Add an Abstract in the panel.
PERRLA will add an Abstract page as the second page of your paper, along with a prompt where you can type your abstract and a place for Keywords.
If you click Add an Abstract after an abstract has already been added, PERRLA will take you to the existing abstract rather than creating a new one.
Deleting an Abstract
See our dedicated article on Removing an Abstract Page (Add-in).
Removing the Keywords from an Abstract
If you don't need keywords in your abstract, highlight them and press the Delete key. They'll be removed from your abstract.
