If your PERRLA paper is showing incorrect fonts, updating the master style will fix it. If the problem keeps coming back across multiple papers, a conflicting Word Add-in may be the cause.
Update the master style
- Open the paper with the font issue.
- Go to the Home tab and click Styles Pane.
- Click the down arrow next to the APA style in the list – it should appear second from the top.
- Select Modify Style.
- Set the font to Times New Roman, 12 pt.
- Click OK.
This will update all PERRLA elements in your paper to the correct font automatically.
If the problem keeps coming back
If you're seeing font issues across multiple papers, another Word Add-in may be conflicting with PERRLA. To check, remove your other Add-ins from Word and create a new PERRLA paper. If the font looks correct, one of the removed Add-ins is the cause.
From there, you have two options: remove the conflicting Add-in, or keep it and use the style fix above each time the issue appears.
