The PERRLA Add-in for Word lets you add your reference's Research Notes directly to your papers.
Finding your Research Notes
Click the Research Notes icon in the PERRLA ribbon tab to open the Research Notes panel on the right side of Word.
The panel shows Research Notes for each reference you've added to your paper. By default, notes are collapsed under each reference to save space. Click Show research notes under a reference to expand them. You can also search all notes in the paper using the search bar at the top of the panel.
Adding notes to your paper
You can add notes to your paper in a similar way to adding citations. Here's how:
- Place your cursor where you want the note to appear.
- Locate the note in the Research Notes panel.
- Hover over the note and click the blue plus icon.
PERRLA will insert the note into the body of your paper. If the note has a citation attached, PERRLA will create the citation at the same time.
Once you add a Research Note to your paper, it will have a green background to show it's been used. You can still use the same note as many times as you need.
