An abstract is meant to provide a succinct description of your paper in a single paragraph of between 150 and 250 words. It is often followed by a keywords section.
How to add an Abstract
PERRLA Online can help you add an abstract to your paper in just a few quick steps.
- Go to the PERRLA ribbon tab
- Click Abstract
PERRLA will open the Abstract panel to the right of your paper.
- Click Add an Abstract in the panel
PERRLA will add an Abstract page as the second page of your paper, along with a prompt where you can type your abstract. It also includes a place for Keywords.
As you've likely noticed, there is another way to add an abstract to your APA 7 papers in PERRLA Online. Immediately following your Title Page is a large green button that simply reads 'Add Abstract.' Clicking on this button will add an Abstract as the second page of your paper.
If you click Abstract in the PERRLA ribbon tab after an abstract has been added to your paper, you will be taken to the same panel; however, this time, you will be asked if you'd like to remove the Abstract from your paper.
