After you've created your paper, you can edit the information on the Title Page or edit the paper's Running Head in the Title Page panel.
In APA 7th Edition, the Running Head is no longer required in Student Research Papers, only Professional Research Papers. You can learn more about the differences between Student and Professional research papers here.
- Go to the PERRLA ribbon tab
- Click Title Page
- Make any changes to the title page in the fields provided
You can also add additional information that wasn't included when you started the paper. You can even choose to add a Running Head to your Student Research Paper (even though it's not required, we offered the option in case your professor still wants your papers to have a traditional Running Head).
- Click Update Title Page in the panel
Voila! Your Title Page and/or Running Head will be automatically updated to reflect your changes.
Need to customize your Title Page?
If you need to customize your title page beyond the standard APA formatting, you can do so after you finish working on your paper. Download your paper as a Word document and make your custom changes using Word or another word processor.
Downloaded papers from PERRLA Online also work with our PERRLA for Word Add-in. Click here to learn more about Title Pages in the PERRLA for Word Add-in.
