Creating new APA 7th Edition compliant references is a breeze with the PERRLA Word Add-In.
How to create a new reference
We'll click Create a new Reference to start the Reference Wizard. It will walk us through the reference creation process.
- Click Create a new Reference
- Select the type of reference you need to create
- Complete the fields
PERRLA will provide several fields, but you should only input the information you have. Leave the rest blank, and PERRLA will take care of building your properly formatted reference. Any common fields will be marked with a blue border. Once you information is entered, click Next.
- Review & confirm your reference
At the top of the next panel, you'll see a preview of your Reference in APA 7th Edition format. You may then add optional content – create a private description or add tags to help organize your Reference Library.
- Add the Reference to your paper by clicking Next
The first time we add a reference to our paper, PERRLA will automatically create our paper's Reference section. All the references in our paper are listed in the References & Citations panel, and PERRLA keeps them sorted correctly in the paper's Reference section.
