The PERRLA Add-in lives inside its own ribbon-tab inside Word.
Most of the icons in the tab will open a side panel where you can add, edit, or update the corresponding items. Two of the icons (New Paper and Text & Heading Styles) offer drop-down menus with further options.
There are five major sections: Start, Paper Sections, References, Formatting, & Account.
Start is where you can create new papers or convert an existing PERRLA Research Paper.
Paper Sections lets you add or manage different parts of your papers. Clicking any of the options will open its corresponding panel inside of Word. You can edit your Title Page, add an Abstract, add a Table of Contents, or see how to add an Appendix.
References will open the References & Citations panel in PERRLA. It's the heart of PERRLA and the panel you will interact with the most frequently. You can click here to learn a bit more about creating or adding references & citations.
Formatting lets you update objects that are found in the body of your paper. This includes updating heading styles, inserting tables, and adding figures into your paper. The Text & Heading Styles button is a dropdown that will apply various styles any text you have selected in your paper.
The last section is for your PERRLA Account. It has two options: Help and Settings. Help will open the PERRLA Help Center in a secondary panel in Word. Settings will let you adjust some of your basic PERRLA settings.
