PERRLA for Word on Mac makes it simple to insert perfectly formatted figures into your papers.
How it works
To start, you’ll need to have your paper open in PERRLA and go to the Paper’s Body tab in PERRLA. Once you're there, you're just a few clicks away from a perfect table.
- Place the cursor in Word where you want the table to be
- Click Insert a New Figure in the PERRLA Paper's Body tab
- Select the figure file
If you have copied the image to your clipboard from the web or elsewhere, you can check Use Image in Clipboard to use it. If not, browse to the figure file on your computer using Choose File.
- Click Insert New Figure
PERRLA will insert the figure and format it to match your paper's style.
Once your figure is inserted, you can edit, tweak, or adjust it however you’d like in Word. PERRLA gets it set up for you and then you control it in your paper.
As you add new figures, we’ll automatically update the Figure numbers for you - even if you add a table between two others.
Deleting a figure
You can delete a table from your paper by simply highlighting and deleting it in Word.
Be sure to update the Figure numbers in Word by highlighting the Figure number, right-clicking it, and click Update Field.
While PERRLA can update the Figure numbers when adding figures, you’ll need to update them in Word if you delete one.
Also, if you’ve referenced a figure in your text, make sure it is correct as you add and delete other figures.
