There are a few things to know about "importing" a paper into PERRLA for Word (Windows).
From PERRLA for Word (Windows)
Adding a PERRLA Paper from another PERRLA for Word (Widows) user is easy. Once the file is on your computer, you'll need to:
- Move the file into the My PERRLA Papers folder
This is the default folder for storing your PERRLA Papers. If you have changed the default folder, move it there instead.
- Restart PERRLA for Word
- Open the Paper from the My PERRLA Papers tab
If you have moved your default folder or don't know where it is, you can find it by going to the Settings tab in PERRLA. It is listed at the top as "My PERRLA Papers:".
From PERRLA for Word (Mac)
If you need to open a paper that was created with PERRLA for Word on a Mac (Apple) computer, you'll need to convert it with PERRLA.
- Go to the My Papers tab
- Click the Convert and Open button in the bottom right
- Locate the paper file and click Open.
PERRLA will convert the paper, open it, and add it to your My PERRLA Papers folder.
From PERRLA Online
Papers do not sync between PERRLA Online and PERRLA for Word. However, you can export a paper from PERRLA Online for PERRLA for Word.
When you export your Paper from PERRLA Online as a Word document, be sure to set the Compatability to Word for PC. This will create a Word document that can be accessed by PERRLA for Word (Windows).
Now you will need to follow the above instructions for adding a Paper from PERRLA for Word (Windows). Move the Paper to the My PERRLA Papers folder and restart PERRLA for Word.
Importing a Non-PERRLA Paper
If you want to use PERRLA for Word with a paper that wasn't created in PERRLA originally, you will need to convert it into a PERRLA Paper.
