If you're ready to turn in your paper, it's always a smart idea to check it for any errors first. The new Paper Review panel in our Word Add-in helps you do just that!
We've listed some of the most common errors that students make when writing papers. Most of these are things that you will want to check in your paper manually. However, the last step for some students is to create a clean copy of their PERRLA paper that doesn't include the Content Controls (blue boxes) and PERRLA settings.
Depending on the length of your paper, creating a version of the paper without PERRLA can take anywhere from a few seconds to about a minute (for really long papers). During this time, we are creating a copy of the paper, checking all of our formatting, and setting up the new document.
Once the paper has been cleaned up, we'll open it in a new document – leaving the version with PERRLA open in the background.
Pro Tip: It's a great idea to save your new paper right away. By default, the new copy will have almost the exact same name as the original paper.
Where to find Paper Review
You can find the Paper Review panel by opening the navigation menu icon in any PERRLA panel (the hamburger-looking icon in the top left corner of our panels).
In our Summer 2021 update, we will be adding Paper Review directly to the PERRLA ribbon tab as its own icon.
